Neurology

Morphological and functional neuroimaging offers crucial diagnostic information for evaluating a large spectrum of central nervous system diseases. However, implementation of successful imaging endpoints depends on careful and efficient planning of trial design, reliable data acquisition, and processing. The radiologists at DICE can provide active guidance in the process of image acquisition parameter standardization and post-acquisition data processing.

Our areas of expertise include:

  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Dementias
  • Epilepsy
  • Parkinson's disease

Imaging modalities:

  • PET/CT using 18F-FDG, 11C-PIB, 18F-DOPA
  • PET/MRI using 18F-FDG, 11C-PIB, 18F-DOPA
  • MRI
  • Scintigraphic cerebral scans using 99mTc-MIBI, 123I-MIBG

Interpretation criteria:

  • Qualitative assessment of presence, extent and severity of neurodegenerative or vascular dementias and Parkinson's disease.
  • Detection of epileptic foci using dual information provided by metabolic PET assessment combined with precise cerebral localization using MRI.
